Another Denial for Waukesha Mayor’s Referendum Request

Two committees suggesting that Common Council vote against referral presented by Mayor Jeff Scrima.

The Ordinance & License Committee unanimously is recommending that recommendation to put any project costing $50 million or more to referendum be denied, according to Alderman John Kalblinger, who is on the committee.

The unanimous decision involved all committee members, Kalblinger said, which also includes Steve Johnson, Roger Patton, Terry Theime and Duane Paulson.

The Common Council delayed discussing or taking action on the mayor’s request Aug. 16 to wait for the Ordinance & License Committee’s recommendation. The Finance Committee voted Aug. 9 to recommend the Common Council deny Scrima’s recommendation.
