Foster Dad Charged with Multiple Counts of Child Pornography

Waukesha man is prohibited from having anymore foster children in his house after Waukesha detectives found hundreds of pornographic image of children on his computer, according to a criminal complaint.

A 45-year-old Waukesha man is no longer allowed to have foster children in his home after he is accused of possessing child pornography at his Oaklawn Avenue home.

Daniel G. Lomeli was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court with 10 counts of possessing child pornography and one count of child sexploitation. If convicted, he faces up to 175 years in prison.

A Waukesha County court commissioner ordered that he have no contact with minors and forbade Lomeli from having foster children at his home. Lomeli's guns are also to be confiscated if he posts bail.

A Waukesha detective began monitoring Lomeli’s activity on May 22 while conducting an investigation into the downloading and sharing of files know to contain child pornography, according to the criminal complaint. The detective was able to connect directly with Lomeli’s computer to download a pornographic video of a young girl.

Waukesha police officers served a search warrant at the Oaklawn Avenue home on June 26. They found 180 videos and several hundred images of children identified ask known victims of child pornography or recognized child pornography victims, the complaint states.

Lomeli started looking at pornographic images of cartoon figures last summer, he told investigators. He became curious and started viewing child pornography on the site, he told investigators, according to the complaint.
