Electronics, Oreo Ice Cream Stolen From Pewaukee Walmart

Two men face felony charges after Pewaukee police say they shoplifted more than $700 in merchandise from Walmart.

A 20-year-old Mukwonago man is accused of stealing electronics and a quart of Oreo ice cream from the Pewaukee Walmart on Saturday.

Jasen R. Suszek was charged with felony retail theft-as a party to a crime in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Monday. If convicted, he faces up to 1-1/2 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Also charged is Michael J. Keller, 24, of Milwaukee.

Pewaukee police officers were dispatched to 411 Pewaukee Road for a report of a retail theft involving three people. Dispatch reports indicated that two suspects fled in a large red vehicle and one fled on foot, according to the criminal complaint.

An asset protection employee told police he was watching the suspicious men and saw them select merchandise, place it in the cart and walk out the exit doors without paying for the items.

Electronics, including a computer, and a quart of Oreo ice cream were stolen during the theft, resulting in a loss of $729.87 to Walmart, the complaint states.

Suszek was identified as a suspect in the theft via video surveillance. He told police was with two other people at Walmart. Β Once they were inside Walmart, he told police, he realized his friend, Keller, planned to shoplift from the store but Suszek still assisted in selecting merchandise, according to the complaint. Suszek told police he helped take off the security features, and then they walked out the door without paying for the items.
