A Day on the Lake: Waukesha Cops Fish With Children

Waukesha police officers created a positive experience for Saratoga Parks and Recreation children through the Cops and Kids Foundation.

Twenty children from the Saratoga Parks and Recreation program had the opportunity to fish with Waukesha police officers and other volunteers on Pewaukee Lake on Wednesday.

The fish were hungry when the crew went out on the lake. More than 125 fish were caught and released by the children, according to Bob Kramer, president of The Cops and Kids Foundation.

The Cops and Bobbers program was made possible by a grant to the Waukesha Police Department by The Cops and Kids Foundation and the donors who support the foundation.

The fishing event is designed to provide positive community contacts between younger children and police officers.
