Aaron Rodgers Day: Share Your No. 12 Photos Here!

Are you celebrating Wisconsin's special 12-12-12? Share what you like best about the Green Bay Packers quarterback here – or tell us why you can't stand him!

I personally think 12-12-12 should be a national holiday, but with our president being a Bears fan and all … it’s not going to happen.

It’s Aaron Rodgers day. A day for Green Bay Packers fans to celebrate the success of the team under the leadership of No. 12.

Let’s just face it, it’s a day for us to wear our green and gold jerseys, to paint our fingernails green (am I right, ladies?) and to just get darn excited that we are Packers fans from Wisconsin.

Aaron Rodgers day started as a Facebook joke that became viral. The state legislature officially declared Dec. 12, 2012, to be his day.

Milwaukee County workers are being allowed to wear Packers jerseys or shirts to work on Wednesday. Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele is encouraging employees to donate $12 to the MACC Fund a childhood cancer research fund for which Rodgers has helped raise almost $750,000

“There is no better way to celebrate the Packers and Aaron Rodgers than by showing our pride,” Abele said in a news release. “Like Aaron Rodgers, I’m a strong supporter of the MACC Fund, and this is a good chance to have fun while raising money for an important cause.”

A Waukesha salon is also chipping in with donations going toward the MACC fund. Salon Brillare', 1830 Meadow Lane, will offer $12 haircuts and manicures, free Parrafin wax treatments and light refreshments during its tailgate party. They are asking customers taking advantage of the $12 special to chip in a donation to the childhood cancer research fund.

Rodgers Encounters

I’ve met Rodgers once outside of Lambeau Field after a football game. I got my cheesehead signed, and I didn’t wash my hand for 24 hours. He was a really nice guy, so these rumors about Rodgers being engaged make me more than a little disappointed. Come on, I wanted a chance!

But have you had any Aaron Rodgers encounters? Perhaps at the Brookfield restaurant he part-owns with Brewers slugger Ryan Braun? Why do you like him? And who do you think is better, Rodgers or Brett Favre? Tell us in the comments and add your jersey pictures here.

It's Aaron Rogers day, not Brett Favre day! You just ruined it for me today by including such a dumb question in this piece.,...who do you like better? What are we, third graders? Go Aaron, enjoy your day! I think part of the Patch philosophy is always "stir that pot": Well not today.
Carl Engelking (Editor) December 12, 2012 at 02:47 pm
Well, isn't also technically Tom Brady day too? Colt McCoy? Wade Boggs? John Stockton? Andrew Luck? Joe Namath? Terry Bradshaw?
Just stirring the pot.
Greg December 12, 2012 at 04:12 pm
Nope!

Don't like Aaron Rodgers. No discernible personality. No sense of humor. No sense that football is a game. It's entertainment, not brain surgery! Mr. Roboto. Arrogant, self-absorbed.

I think Aaron Rodgers is actually pretty funny. Very witty. Do you listen to his Tuesday's With Aaron on ESPN 540?
Sarah Millard (Editor) December 12, 2012 at 05:35 pm
And his commercials - he's willing to be picked on in every single one of them!

Sophie: Football is more than a simple game. Much planning and studying is done in preparation for a game. Adjustments to the game plan are made on the fly, much like business planning is done. You do not have to like A. Rodgers to appreciate his skill and talent, knowledge of the game will help you do that.
Perhaps you are still stuck on Brett Favre and receive frequent picture messages from him. Do you have any ties to NY or the Jets organization?

Are we talking about football or speed dating?

His fiance is smoking hot. She's a 12 as well.

Aaron Rodgers is a class act..on AND off the football field. He is a genuine, good person. Check out his work with the MACC Fund, and the kids with cancer at itsaaron.com . Doesnt seem arrogant and self absorbed to me... I have no affiliation with him or the MACC fund, but was very touched by his work with these kids. Dont judge a book by his NFL stats....

Seems like Sophie has our beloved Aaron Rodgers mixed up with Jay Cutler.
CowDung December 13, 2012 at 06:11 pm
She's only 12 years old?

That's cool that one person can have so much influence in a state that he gets a day to call his own.

Dawn: Can you tell me about a block or location where it's happening? We might be able to work on aRead More story this week on Patch.

Our spruce trees have been dying as well. Very slowly. This is on upper Coventry lane just acrossRead More from the walkway to Meadowbrook school.

We lost bushes also. I assumed it was from last summer's drought. We're located near Hy59 andRead More Sunset. I noticed dead trees at Prairie View and Sunset also.

I agree that the folks at this Kwik Trip are great at assisting disabled people like myself but IRead More disagree that all Kwik Trips are helpful. There is a law that all gas stations are to assist you if you have disabled plates or a hanging placard if you press the help or disabled key on the pump. If there is no key (and I think all must have them by a certain date) then you are to honk horn twice and if there are at least 2 employees on duty, they are to assist. The K/T on St. Paul is useless. I've waited there, watching at least 3 employees mill around the counter with 1 or 2 customers and ingnore me. The Grandview station same but I haven't tried them in a few months. The worst station for that is whatever the one on St. Paul and Prarie is. I pulled in to see a female worker standing on side of building smoking. When she went in she was greeted by a male worker and I was ignored by both. I'd like to do a survey on how helpful each gas station is to the disabled. Kudos to Fleetfoot Kwik Trip! Whatever they got they should share with their brethren. I would rather give my $ to K/T because they are WI based and they donate regularly to the Salvation Army

I am fine with this service--its great. However being handicapped does not mean employees need toRead More give up their breaks or other customers need to let you cut in line in front of their service needs.

Will these need water? Because the Garden Center at Target has great deals on "no water"Read More tomato plants, which would surely save me some much needed General Assistance money.
Kathy Spancrete June 13, 2013 at 09:14 pm
According to a recent episode of Judge Judy, tomatoes can be both poisonous and deadly. When IRead More called the posted phone number asking for a simple answer to my many serious questions, and all they did was put me on hold -- repeatedly. I cannot recommend a company that refuses to stand behind its own product, much less pick up the phone.
Collin Richter, Waukesha North Badger Boys State Representative
BRM Management June 10, 2013 at 05:16 pm
Update! Collin was just selected as one of two STATE TROOPERS for Dodge County. He and otherRead More representatives were interviewed yesterday. Word is that he may be assisting Governor Scott Walker off the helicopter when he arrives at Badger Boys State later this week. Governor Walker is a past Badger Boys State representative.
Sarah Millard (Editor) June 10, 2013 at 06:02 pm
Thanks for sharing and congrats Collin!
