Obituary: William “Bill” Ankomeus

Waukesha man dies at age 74.

William “Bill” Ankomeus of Waukesha, passed away peacefully, after a long battle with CHF, on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, surrounded by his family at his home at the age of 74 years old.

Bill was born on March 14, 1937, in Whitewater, WI, the son of Roy H. and Myrtle I. (nee Decker) Ankomeus.

Bill will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary (nee Scarce, previously Knutson); his children, Tamera “Bambi” Cotton, Bronwyn “Boomer” (John) Coleman, Christine “Charlie” (Bill) Affeldt, Mark “Wilbur” (Tammy) Ankomeus, Laura “Hughie” (Bill) Nagel, Sue “Moby” Knutson, Delbert “Wacky” (Deb) Knutson and Heather “Twinkie” Hueman; his 17 grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Ronald Ankomeus; his sister, Shirley Mitchell; his special friend, Bobby Payton; and many other family and friends.  Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriet (nee Morgan) Ankomeus.

A visitation for Bill will be from 4 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service on Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188.

The family would like to send a special thank you to everyone at the Waukesha Memorial Hospital CHF Clinic and especially Cheryl.  They would also like to thank ProHealth Homecare for their excellent care of Bill, especially Robyn, Paula and Alison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated by the family to the American Heart Association of Wisconsin for CHF Research, 660 East Mason St., Suite 200, Milwaukee, WI 53202. For those who would like to do something in remembrance of Bill, the family has asked people to give blood at a local blood donation center in his memory.
