Obituary: Thomas “Tom” Michael Pagels

Thomas “Tom” Michael Pagels, of Pewaukee passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at his home at the age of 48 years.  

He was born in Elgin, IL on November 1, 1964 the son of Louis and LaDonna (nee Hunter) Pagels.  As a child he lived in Hanover Park, IL.  He went to high school in Schaumberg, IL where he enjoyed playing football.  He later attended Northern Illinois University and studied English literature.  

Tom lived life to the fullest and always had a great story to share. Some of his greatest passions were motorcycle riding, working on his Honda VTX 1800, helping out and sharing good times with his friends. Other passions included cooking, entertaining and all things baseball. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.  He had a huge personality and was a one of a kind gentleman, kind, generous man who had a gentle spirit.

His most active voluntary involvements were with bi-weekly platelet donations to the Blood Center of Wisconsin, annually assisting with Camp Ammon BSA and in years past worked with a local women’s shelter to rescue women and children in harm’s way. He touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was loved very much, and has left his many friends and family with cherished memories. 

He will be sadly missed by his beloved life partner, Naomi Schroeder of Pewaukee, his son Cass Pagels and his daughter Madison Pagels and their mother Maria Perez all of Waukesha, and his mother LaDonna Pagels of Hanover Park, IL. His father Louis "Tom" Pagels preceded him in death.

He is further survived by his brother Jeffrey (Michele) Pagels, his uncle Douglas Hunter along with other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.  In addition Tom touched the lives of Naomi’s sons, Klaus and Tristan and provided them a great role model and father-figure during a much needed time in their lives.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 2:30PM until the time of the 5:30PM funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.  Reverend John Mundt will preside.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are greatly appreciated to the family.
