Obituary: Thomas S. Kilpatrick

Former Waukesha man served with the U.S. Air Force.

Thomas S. Kilpatrick, of the Town of Genesee, after a short illness passed with his family by his side on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Angels Grace Hospice at the age of 81.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1930, in Waukesha, the son of Harry V. and Dorothy (nee Schram) Kilpatrick. He was a 1948 graduate of Waukesha High School and a 1954 graduate of UW-Madison receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.  While in college he was a member of the Psi Upsilon fraternity.

On Aug. 23, 1952, he married the former Margaret “Peggy” Breese at First Congregational UCC in Waukesha, where he has been a member for many years and served as trustee. He was a real estate appraiser and owned Appraisal Associates of Waukesha, Inc., was a member of the Appraisal Institute and president of the WI Chapter of MAI. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the 128th Refueling Group.  He was very involved in 4-H with his children, and they enjoyed their hobby farm.  Tom was an active member of Waukesha Rotary.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Margaret “Peggy” Breese Kilpatrick of the town of Genesee, along with their children Dave (Christi) Kilpatrick, Ann (Gene) Diesen, Jim (Gail) Kilpatrick, and Abbie (LarryAgathen) Kilpatrick.  He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Dorothy Backstrom, brother-in-law Robert Breese, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at First Congregational UCC, 100 E. Broadway, Waukesha, WI  53186.  A memorial service will begin at 11:45 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Congregational Church are appreciated or to the charity of donor’s choice.
