Obituary: Robert W. (Reggie) Hathaway, Sr.

Robert W. (Reggie) Hathaway, Sr., a retired firefighter, dies at age 81.

Robert W. (Reggie) Hathaway, Sr., age 81, of Waukesha, passed Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 27, 1931, in Waukesha, the son of William H. and Anna (nee Tullis) Hathaway.

Roberts’ times in the military as well as the fire department were very important to him.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and for 31 years he dedicated himself to Waukesha’s Fire Department out of Old Station 1, retiring in 1988. Robert had a place for everyone with open arms and an open heart, touching many lives.

He is remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 61 years Patricia (nee Moore) of Waukesha.  He was the loving father of William H. Hathaway of Whitewater and Jennifer L. Page of Waukesha.  A wonderful grandfather to Robert III, Heather, Patricia (Peter), Victoria, Tammy, Sabrina (Eric), Alexzander, Rebeccah, Nathanial, Forrest, Cassandra (Todd), Catrinna, Jake and Elizabeth, and a special great-grandfather to Dax, Benjamin, Andrew, Benjamin, Montana, Vania and Cash.  In addition to his brothers and sisters he was preceded in death by his son, Robert W. Hathaway II, his daughter Loretta Mae (Bruce) Roemer and his grandson Randy Roemer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. time for sharing at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Interment with full military honors will take place at a later date at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery. Memorials are greatly appreciated to the family.
