Obituary: Robert H. "Bob" Schuett, Jr.

Waukesha man and World War II veteran dies at age 85.

Robert H. “Bob” Schuett, Jr., of Waukesha, found peace on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his home at the age of 85.

He was born in Waukesha on July 14, 1926, the son of Robert H. and Mabel (nee Grover) Schuett, Sr. Bob proudly served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII and then attended Carroll College.  On Oct. 8, 1949, he married Constance “Connie” Coley at First Presbyterian Church; she preceded him in death on May 11, 2011.  Bob owned the Purity Bakery in Waukesha and Bonanza Restaurant.  He also worked as a realtor for many years but for the majority of his life he was a farmer where he raised beef and grain. He was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church, was a member and past president of the Waukesha Golden K Kiwanis, a member and past president of the Waukesha Optimist Club and a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge No. 37.  He was a proud supporter and Grand Marshal of the Waukesha County Fair.

Bob will be sadly missed by his children Jeff (Lydia Fekula) Schuett of Oconomowoc, Randy (Brenda) Schuett of Waukesha, Robert (Linda) Schuett of Mukwonago, David (Shelli) Schuett of Dillon, MT, and Laurie (Mike) Hollern of Waukesha.  He was the proud grandfather of Gabriel Schuett of Madison, Becca (Ben) Smaglick of Madison, Nick Schuett of Spindale, NC, Tina Schuett of Traverse City, MI, Leslie (Mike) Rather of Mukwonago, Aaron (Andi) Schuett of Mukwonago, Renee (Matt) Schuster of Hudson, OH, Scott Schuett of Mukwonago, Brian (Melissa) Schuett of Waukesha, Blade, Austin and Kaz Schuett all of Dillon, MT and Kade and Jace Hollern of Waukesha.  He is further survived by his eight great-grandchildren, his sister Elizabeth “Betty” Lick of Waukesha, his brother Jack “John” (Janet) Schuett of Long Lake, MN along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  In addition to his wife, Connie, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Tim Lick.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at noon at First Presbyterian Church, 810 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186.  Following the service the family will greet friends at a celebration of Bob’s life from 1:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Merrill Hills Country Club, W270 S3425 Merrill Hills Road Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Carroll University, 100 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 or to First Presbyterian Church (address above).
