Obituary: Robert G. “Bob” Wick

Pewaukee man, 91, served in U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

Robert G. “Bob” Wick, of Pewaukee, died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Kirkland Crossings, at the age of 91.

Bob was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin on Dec. 9, 1921, son of Elmer and Elise (nee Bergstrom) Wick. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and fought during World War II. Bob married the love of his life, Marjorie, on June 13, 1946. He was an executive of the American Red Cross in cities such as St. Paul, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Washington D.C. Bob greatly enjoyed sailing, golfing, and discussing world politics with those around him.

Bob will be sadly missed by his children, Mary (Fred) Kubiak, David (Sandy) Wick, Tim (Cindy) Wick, Rita (Mike) Gluckstein, Paul (Mandy) Wick, and Tony Wick; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his sister–in-law Rita Voigt. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

The visitation for Bob will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of 11 a.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, February 4, 2013, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1755 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, WI 53005. The Rev. Kenneth Knippel will be officiating. A private interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Red Cross, 2600 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53233.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Kirkland Crossings and Seasons Hospice for all their loving care and support.
