Obituary: Richard M. 'Rick' Goetz

Waukesha man dies at age 58.

Richard M. “Rick” Goetz, lifelong Waukesha resident, died on Friday, May 4, 2012, at his home at the age of 58 with his wife at his side.

He was born in Waukesha on Dec. 22, 1953, the son of Sylvester and Lillian (nee Jastinski) Goetz.  On July 19, 1986, he married the former Mary Anschutz at St. Joseph Church in Waukesha. Rick retired in 2008 from the Milwaukee Carpenters Local 2337.  Rick was a blues music fan and had a great love for cars especially his 1932 Ford Delivery Panel Truck. As an avid Ford lover he enjoyed restoring his 1932 Ford 5 window coupe.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 25 years Mary Goetz of Waukesha, his brothers and sisters: Harold (Nancy) Goetz of Waupaca, Marilyn (Thomas) Lynch of Waukesha, James (Lynn) Goetz of Waukesha and Patricia (Dale) Ellifson of Oconomowoc, his mother-in-law Sara Anschutz of Sturgeon Bay, brothers-in-law David (Elaine) Anschutz of Green Bay, Paul (Chesla) Anschutz of Sturgeon Bay, Thomas (Kathleen) Anschutz of Sturgeon Bay and James Anschutz of Sturgeon Bay and sister-in-law Julie Bader (fiancé Ronald Witthuhn) of Fish Creek.  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth Goetz and his father-in-law Kenneth Anschutz.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to ProHealth Home Hospice, especially Allison for their gentle care in Rick’s final days.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012, from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha.  Reverend William Stanfield will preside.  Entombment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
