Obituary: Ray E. Anders

Waukesha man, 95, was born in Kansas.

Ray E. Anders, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at LindenGrove on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the age of 95 years. Ray was born in Delia, Kansas on Aug. 30, 1917, the son of Jesse and Pearl (nee Richardson) Anders.

He married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Betty” Alm on August 30, 1939. Ray proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wales and was most recently a member of Christ the Life Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Ray loved hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was an excellent woodworker and built two homes. For many years, Ray worked at the Archie Ladewig Company in Waukesha. He later retired as a supervisor from the Crown, Cork and Seal Company. More than anything, Ray loved to spend time with his family.

Ray will be dearly missed by his wife, Betty; his children, Larry (Lorna) Anders of Waukesha and Thomas (Theresa) Anders of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Lorie (Kyle) Juno of Waukesha, Michael (Tracey) Anders of Oconomowoc, Todd Anders of Waukesha and Tracie (Troy) Naatz of Watertown; his nine great-grandchildren, Brendan, Melissa, Kailie, Darren, Tyler, Lindsay, Tommy, Jenna and Evan.; his brother, Ivan (Pat) Anders of Sun Prairie; his sister, Betty (George) Venes of Waukesha; and many other family and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Jesse, Dean and Virgil Anders and his sister, Doreen Manak.

A visitation for Ray will be from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Reverend Eric Edwards will officiate the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated by the family to Christ the Life Lutheran Church, 3031 Summit Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53188.
