Peter James “Pete” Steckl died unexpectedly Monday, June 17, 2013, at the age of 66. He was the beloved and cherished husband of Faye (nee Christensen) for 46 years; generous and loving father of Michele Schmidt, Tracy (Corey) Masalewicz and Jeremy “Jerry” (Michelle Gardner) Steckl; warm-hearted Bapa of Gunner, Dakota Masalewicz, Roderick and Rayden Schmidt; brother of George (Karen); and brother-in-law of Sandra McKee and Sharon Floryance. He is also loved by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was a proud and active member of Steamfitters Local 601 for 44 years. He never missed a moment to spend time with his grandchildren. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and playing cards.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, with a celebration of Peter’s life at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park.
