Obituary: Patricia Bladow

Wales woman, 73, passed away Wednesday.

Patricia Bladow, of Wales, surrounded by her family, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the age of 73.

Patricia was born in Ashland, WI, on July 26, 1939, daughter of Lester and Vinnie Shaw. She married the love of her life, Edward Bladow, on Dec. 19, 1958.  Patricia found great joy working as an elementary school teacher for over 35 years.  She was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha.  Patricia was active in 4-H for many years as well as the American Foreign Exchange program.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, hiking and square dancing.  Patricia’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she was a great wife, mom, and friend who will always be remembered for her warm smile and soft spirit.

Patricia will be dearly missed by her husband, Edward; children, Kelly (Jeff) Graminske and Chad (Heidi) Bladow; grandchildren, Rachel, Jason, Jessica, Erin and Karl; and sisters, Joan Heath and Jenny Odom.  Patricia is further survived by many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Tom and Howard.

The visitation for Patricia will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the 12 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188.  The Reverend Andy Fetters will be officiating.  Private burial will be held at Salem Cemetery in Wales.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association, 620 S. 76th St., Ste.160, Milwaukee, WI 53214, or to the Kettle Moraine Scholarship Fund (KMSF), 563 A.J. Allen Cir., Wales, WI 53183, or to St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (address above).
