Obituary: LuEllen Teschner

Waukesha woman, age 90, had a great love for children.

LuEllen Teschner, of Waukesha, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, peacefully at Oak Hill Terrace at the age of 90.

She was born on July 20, 1921, in Merrill, WI, the daughter of William and Hattie Krueger. LuEllen was a proud graduate of Merrill High School. She married the love of her life, Hank Teschner on April 27, 1946.

LuEllen enjoyed canning the produce from Hank’s garden, making wonderful jams and jellies, which along with her being a great baker she shared with all. She volunteered at the Voting Polls and Avalon Manor was in a Card Club for 57 years, liked to bowl, belonged to a Dart Ball League and loved to travel. LuEllen was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, was on the ladies guild and helped with vacation Bible School. Throughout LuEllen’s life, she had a love of children. Most of all she loved spending time with her family: grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

LuEllen will be sadly missed by her children, Roger (Mary) Teschner of Discovery Bay, CA, Cheryl (Dan) Giesen of Geneva, IL and Kim (Zach) Zachow of Waukesha, WI; grandchildren, Nathan Giesen, Brent (Kathryn) Giesen, Michael Giesen, Andy (Cory Landry) Zachow, Amanda Zachow and Tyler Zachow; great-grandchildren, Micah, Joey, Benjamin, Kylie, Lilia Giesen, and Lacey Zachow; brother, Will (Sue) Krueger of Waukesha and sister, Janette Kurth of Tomahawk; brothers-in-law Ed Teschner, and Wally Laak; sisters-in-law, Elsie Fisher and Opal Laak. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. LuEllen is preceded in death by her husband, Hank; brothers Clarence, Earl and Lawrence; sisters Rose, Grace and Margaret.

The visitation for LuEllen will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25 at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. A second visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, Nov. 26, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church 1205 S. East Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Peter Schmidt will be officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.  Memorials to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church appreciated, (see address above).
