Obituary: Luella W. Dunlap

Waukesha woman, 91, passed away Monday.

Luella W. Dunlap, of Waukesha, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at the age of 91.

She was born on May 18, 1921 in Fonda, IA the daughter of Rudolph and Kathryn Weidauer. Luella was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha and served as secretary and elder. She was very active in her community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, donating blood, ringing the bell for Salvation Army, and participating in Practical Club. Luella enjoyed traveling and going on vacation in Eagle River. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, swimming and golfing with the ladies on Tuesday mornings. Luella’s greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Luella will be deeply missed by her children, Stephen (Kathy) Dunlap, Kathleen (Mike) Staebell, Kirk (Pat) Dunlap, Jim (Marcy) Dunlap, Luanne Dunlap and Laurel Hopkins; grandchildren Matt (Jess) and Anne Dunlap, Brook (Chad) Baker, Travis, Brett, and Chelsea Staebell, Bridgid, Joe, and Jeff Dunlap, Meggie, Claire, Sarah, Sam, and Ben Dunlap, Jessie, Jake, Kellie and Wade Craney, and Tony (fiancé Allison), Ella, Luke and Sean Hopkins; great-grandchildren Olivia and John Dunlap and Braeden and Rylee Baker; brother-in-law Larry (Joan) Dunlap; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, son-in-law Dale Hopkins, one brother and two sisters.

The first visitation for Luella will be held on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI  53188. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the First Presbyterian Church, 810 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI  53186. The Revs. Nicole Farley and Bill Humphreys will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha.
