Obituary: Leroy Arno Stippich

Waukesha man served country during World War II.

Leroy Arno Stippich, of Waukesha, was born to eternal life on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 90 years.

Leroy was born on July 22, 1921 in Hayfield, MN, to Arno C. and Elsie (nee Schmidt) Stippich. He married Delphia Marie “Del” Vadnais on May 19, 1945, and they enjoyed 55 wonderful years together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who always put his family first. Leroy was very patriotic and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a faithful and generous supporter of the Waukesha Food Pantry, Salvation Army, Native American Rights, Waukesha Civic Band and the Waukesha North Star Marching Band.

Leroy will be missed by his children, Robert (Christine) Stippich of Wales, John (Sandie) Stippich of Pewaukee, Mary Stapleton of Rochester and Janet (George) Jordan of Ontario; his grandchildren, Christopher (Wendy) Stippich of Delafield, Joseph (Julia) Stippich of Mukwonago, Matthew (Missy) Stippich of Wauwatosa, Andrew (Jenny) Stippich of Delafield, Nicole (Ross) Collura of Oconomowoc, Sarah (Scott) Schubert of Pewaukee, Kelly (Leah) Stapleton of Oak Creek, Patrick Stapleton of Milwaukee, Kimberly (Jerry) Queisser of Beaver Dam, Jeff (Shannon) Jordan of Waukesha and Amanda (Paul) Seeley of Menasha; his great-grandchildren, Jakob, Caden, Robert, Katie, Kaitlin, Benjamin, Grace, Drew, Angelina, Anthony, Dominic, Harley, Tanner, Sophia, Harrison, Emma, Timothy, Nevaeh; his sisters, Elaine Drydyk of Franklin and Esther Hofmann of Waukesha; and many other family and friends. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delphia; his son, Leroy Charles Stippich; his brother, Alvin Stippich; his son-in-law, Dean Stapleton; and his faithful dog, “Lady.”

The family would like to send a special thank you to Leroy’s nephew and caretaker, Ric and his dog, Spooky.

A visitation for Leroy will be from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at the , 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Dean Marek will be officiating the service. The entombment will be at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.
