Obituary: Kathryn May Kay Owens

Waukesha woman was a longtime member of Waukesha Bible Church.

Kathryn May “Kay” Owens, of Waukesha, died on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at LindenGrove in Waukesha at the age of 96.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1915, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Earl and Marie (nee Koll) Spencer.  Kay was a long-time member of the Waukesha Bible Church. She belonged to the Waukesha County Republican Party, the National Association of Bank Women and the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was also a dedicated viewer of the FOX News Channel.

Kay worked at the Dousman State Bank and became the Executive Vice President in 1962.  She continued her career at the bank until 1974.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Owens, her sister Virginia Spencer, her brothers John and Robert Spencer and a granddaughter Shannon Owens.

She will be sadly missed by her children John Owens and William (Anne) Owens; her grandchildren Laurie (Drew) Allen, Stephanie (Rick) Crouse, Kevin (Kathy) Owens, Kaila (Milo Schoonover) Owens, Kerry (Nic) Bur, Scott Owens, Stacey Owens, David W. Owens, William J. Owens, Spencer Owens and Austin David Owens; great-grandchildren Aaron, Austin, Aubrey and Zachary Allen, Caitlin, John and Joseph Crouse, Nicholas Hoffman, Alyssa and Evan Owens, Austin Owens, Elizabeth and Megan Bur and Isabella Grace Owens; and great-great-grandchildren Tristan and Kamryn Allen.

The celebration of Kay’s life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 3 p.m. at Highview Ev. Presbyterian Church, S50 W33042 Town Road GE, Dousman, WI  53118, with Rev. Dennis Henn presiding.  A reception will follow.  A private burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.
