Obituary: Jane M. Schantz

Waukesha woman was a member of the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ.

Jane M. Schantz, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Merrill Hills Manor at the age of 93 years.

She was born on June 27, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Mamie (nee Stark) Higgins. Jane was a member of the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ and the Sarah Circle. She worked at Jendusa Pharmacy for many years. Jane loved playing cards but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jane will be deeply missed by her daughters, Karen (David) Pfeffer of Waukesha,  Barbara Secrest of California and Margaret Ryan of Florida; her grandchildren,  Tom (Durae) Pfeffer, Julie (Ron) Weavel, Scott Pfeffer, Michael Young and Jennifer (Jeff) Reis;  her great grandchildren, Gabrielle “Brie”, Gavin, Kenny and Randy; and other relatives and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” in May of 1981; and her son-in-law, Todd Ryan.

The visitation for Jane will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Reverend Ralph Schultz will officiate the service. Burial to immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated by the family to the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186 or to the Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, 620 S. 76th St., Ste. 160, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
