Obituary: James “Jim” P. Sobrofski

James “Jim” P. Sobrofski, of Ottawa, died on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family at the age of 66 years.  

He was born in Waukesha on March 6, 1947 the only child of Matthew and Ruth (nee Streeck) Sobrofski.  He was a 1965 graduate of Waukesha South High School.  On September 21, 1968 he married Patricia Staffeldt at St. William Catholic Church. Jim worked as a systems analyst for American Motors Corp., Columbia Hospital and Waukesha Memorial Hospital.  

Following his career as a systems analyst he worked for Colder’s for a few years.  Jim loved the outdoors, especially during the fall season.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, golfing and traveling.  He was always very active and could always be found working on different projects.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with this family and he will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 45 years, Pat Sobrofski of Ottawa and their sons, Matthew Sobrofski of Genesee, Brian (Angela) Sobrofski of Oconomowoc and David Sobrofski of Ottawa and he was the dear grandfather of Allyson and Benjamin Sobrofski and Hailey and Gavin Sobrofski.  He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jim (Marge) Staffeldt, Kathy (Ron) Marish, Sally (Warren) Staffeldt-Mollenhauer and Brian (Sandy) Staffeldt along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunts and uncles, George and Catherine Adler, Helen and Jerry Price, Rose Sobrofski, Charles Sobrofski, William Sobrofski and Andrew Sobrofski.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 9:00AM until the time of the 10:30AM funeral Mass at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.  Reverend Curt Frederick will preside.  Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.  If desired, memorials are appreciated to the American Lung Association in Wisconsin, 13100 W. Lisbon Road Suite 700, Brookfield, WI 53005 or to the American Heart Association, 1555 N. Rivercenter Drive Suite 212, Milwaukee, WI 53212.
