Obituary: Fern R. DeCoto

New Berlin woman who loved gardening and bird watching dies at age 91.

Fern R. DeCoto, of New Berlin, formerly of Elroy, died on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 91.

She was born in Tomah, WI on November 13, 1921 the daughter of Harry and Sadie (nee Edgerton) Noble. In October 1956 she married Paul R. DeCoto; he preceded her in death on June 28, 2009.

Fern enjoyed gardening, bird watching, going for drives, rummage sales and loved to cook.  She will always be remembered as a hard-worker who worked most of her life.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter Marcia (Ellick) Roberts of New Berlin, her grandchildren: Rhonda Wright, Ellick (Cindy) Roberts, Carol (Dave) Steinke, Tracy (Ron Shattuck) Roberts, Cyrus “Gene” Roberts, Holly Dolan and Jennifer Kozlowski along with 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Leroy (Rosie) Noble of Waukesha along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Paul and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Kozlowski, her infant daughter Marvis, and her brothers and sisters: Robert, Harry, Richard, Harriet, Irene and Barbara.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha.  Graveside services will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
