Obituary: Elenora A. Nettesheim (nee Carlsen)

Waukesha County woman served in Wmen's Army Air Corp during World War II.

Elenora A. Nettesheim (nee Carlsen) entered into eternal life on April 2, 2012 at the age of 88.

She was born in Pewaukee on Nov. 18, 1923, to Joseph and Adelaide (nee Stoik) Carlsen.  Elenora served during World War II in the Women’s Army Air Corp and she was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.  She was active in her church throughout her life.  She loved to socialize, play cards, and grow flowers.  She was an avid reader and had many interests.  She was devoted to keeping in touch with a large network of friends and family.

Elenora was married to Richard A. Nettesheim in 1945.  Richard died in 1992 and was greatly missed.  They had six children: the late Jane (Gene) Hoegele,  Linda Nettesheim of Sun Prairie, Kathleen (Fred) Nettesheim-Engel of Sacramento, Richard (Nancy) Nettesheim of Brodhead, Mary Nettesheim of Madison and Phylliss Nettesheim of Lakehead, CA. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Cheryl (Ron) Hoegele-Schlicht, Laura (Carlos) Pulido, Bryn Nettesheim, Emilie Nettesheim and Neal Nettesheim and by four great grandchildren, Paku and Phoebe Nettesheim and Jessica and Kyle Schlicht. Elenora is survived by her sister Katherine Erke and her brother David (Adeline) Carlsen from Waukesha.

Visitation and Mass will be on Monday, April 9, at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35 W23360 Capitol Drive, Pewaukee.  Visitation starts at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at noon.  Burial will immediately follow at Sts Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Donations may be made to Interfaith, 210 NW Barstow St., Suite 101, Waukesha, WI 53188.  For further information, please call at 262-547-4035 or go to www.waukeshafunerals.com to leave the family on online tribute message.
