Obituary: Eleanor M. Hermanson

Waukesha woman loved old country music and dancing.

Eleanor M. Hermanson, of Waukesha, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Waukesha Springs at the age of 89.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1922, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Walter and Antonia (nee Lewandowski) Jankowski.  On Sept. 1, 1951, she married George Hermanson at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Milwaukee.  In her earlier years she was an avid bowler.  She loved old country music and dancing, especially polkas.

She will be sadly missed by her husband George, of Waukesha, along with their children Susan (David) Smith of Waukesha and Jacob (Debbie) Hermanson of West Allis.  Dear grandmother of Michelle (Chad) Steckl of Waukesha, David (Amanda) Smith of Red Wing, MN and Shawn Teske of Milwaukee and great-grandmother of Ian and Morgan Steckl and baby Smith, who is on the way.  She is further survived by her brother-in-law Ralph Sokol of Medford, sister-in-law Mary Jankowski of Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service at , 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.  Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery.
