Obituary: Donald F. Snart

Donald F. Snart, age 55 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at his residence.  

He was born in Madison, Wisconsin the son of Dewey C. and Gwendolyn M. (Hauser) Snart. Donald was a 1976 graduate of Waukesha North High School. While in high school, he competed in swimming where he held the record for 13 years for swimming the 400 Meter Freestyle and the MCA National Record in the 400 Medley Relay. Donald continued competing in swimming while in college and took second place in the 1500 Meter Freestyle, fourth place in the 200 Meter Backstroke, and third place in the 400 Meter Freestyle. He was an accomplished musician playing the Bass Trombone with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony. Donald loved camping in the mountains, the ocean, monster trucks and motorcycles. He will be forever remembered for his kindness.  Donald enjoyed spending time with his many friends and loved his family and nieces very much.

Surviving Donald is his loving father, Dewey Snart; sister, Sandra (Jay) Martinez; four nieces, Cassandra, Brittany, Stephanie and Hailey; one uncle, Duane Hauser. Donald is further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Snart; two aunts, Elaine Bradley and Evelyn Snart; uncle, Kenneth Snart; paternal grandparents, Dewey and Margaret Snart and maternal grandparents, Frank and Mabel Oliva.

A visitation for Donald will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. memorial service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd.   Waukesha, WI   53188.  Private interment will be held at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison, Wisconsin.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Donald may be given to the family.
