Obituary: Charles H. Ruck Jr.

Waukesha man, 94, was an avid volunteer at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Charles H. Ruck Jr., of Waukesha, died on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Virginia Health & Rehabilitation Center at the age of 94.

He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on August 17, 1918 the son of Charles H. and Helen (nee Bernard) Ruck Sr. Charles attended the University of West Virginia where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. On June 5, 1943 he married Rose Fazzini at First Baptist Church in Clarksburg, WV; she preceded him in death in 1996. He worked for Cleaver-Brooks Boiler Mfg. in Milwaukee for many years until his retirement in 1983.

Charles was an avid volunteer at Waukesha Memorial Hospital until the age of 90 and participated at the volunteer center at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital.  He was a member of First Assembly of God church where he was very involved in various activities.

He will be sadly missed by his children, Crystal Helen Feral of Madison, Charles H. (Sharon) Ruck III of Townsend and David (Joyce) Ruck of Waukesha, his grandchildren: Jim Ruck of Townsend, Janelle (Greg) Strey of East Troy, Christopher (Tanya) Ruck of Waukesha, Jonathan (Katrin) Ruck of Norman, OK, Michael Erickson of Beloit, Charlene (Nels) Freeman of Janesville and Christine (Jerry) Jordon of Weaverville, CA, his great-grandchildren, Andy, Jamie, Owen, Morgen, Josh, Katie, Autumn Rose, Joseph, and Jordan and one great-great-grandchild Haleigh.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his wife, Rose and his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-brother John Nicholas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 from noon until the 1:30 p.m. funeral service at First Assembly of God, 1314 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.  Reverend Todd Pope will preside. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. If desired, memorials are appreciated to the charity of the donor’s choice. Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral, Cremation and Preplanning Services is honored to serve the family.
