Obituary: Betty Jane Lick

Waukesha woman, 93, worked as an air traffic controller and airline attendant.

Betty Jane Lick, of Waukesha, found peace on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Manor Care of Pewaukee at the age of 93.

She was born in Woodstock, IL on July 8, 1919, the daughter of Robert and Mabel Schuett. Betty attended Carroll College after graduating high school. She then went on to work in aviation as an air traffic controller and airline attendant. Betty then moved to Florida after the death of her husband, Tim Lick, where she began selling real estate. She lived in Florida for nearly 32 years and came back to Waukesha to live the rest of her life with family. Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church, as well as the Women’s Service Club. She was an excellent golfer, an amazing artist, loved to read and had a sharp mind until she passed. Betty’s greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family and friends.

Betty will be missed by her children, Tim Lick of Wisconsin Dells and Wendy (David) Lick-Gass of Texas, and caregiver of 14 years, Lori Johnson. She was the dearest aunt to her nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tim; brothers Jack Schuett and Robert and Connie Schuett; and her parents.
