OBIT: Glen G. Jester

Waukesha man was a Navy veteran and a long-time letter carrier.

Glen G. Jester, of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at LifeCare Hospital at the age of 76 years.

Glen was born on June 14, 1935, a son of Gerald and Esther Jester. On June 21, 1975, he married the love of his life, Judith Shafer. He was a dedicated mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for more than 30 years. Glen proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the , Waukesha. Glen was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Soat-Vergenz Post 721, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and the National Association of Letter Carriers. Glen was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing and playing cards.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Glen will be dearly missed by his wife, Judy; children, Gerald Jester, Michelle (Warren) Curry, Jacqueline Schultz, Blaine Jester, Jill Krenik, and Jay (Connie Lloyd-Kurth) Kurth; grandchildren, Andrew, Jena, Amanda, Michelle, Bonnie, Becky, Bennett, Shannon, Joseph, Clayton, Kyle and Jami Jean; great-grandson, Isaac; brothers, Gordon Jester, Wayne (Donna) Jester and James (Debbie) Jester; sister, Karen; and sister-in-law, Kay Jester.  Glen is further survived by other relatives and many friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald.

The visitation for Glen will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the 5:45 p.m.VFW Soat-Vergenz Post 721 memorial service followed by the 6:00 PM funeral service. The visitation and services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Dan Schwerin will be officiating.  Burial with military honors will be at Genesee Cemetery, Mukwonago.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the First United Methodist Church (address above) or to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation-Heart Care Center, 725 American Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188.
