Obit: Betty J. Carroll

Waukesha woman was an active volunteer.

Betty J. Carroll, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Season’s Hospice at the age of 87.

She was born on May 20, 1924, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Walter and Laura (nee Bielefeld) Kopitzke. She was a graduate of Mercy High School in Milwaukee, and studied voice at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.  On May 10, 1947, she married Vincent F. Carroll at St. Matthew Church in Milwaukee.

She was a member of Vernon Presbyterian Church and volunteered at various places such as:  Bayview Community Center, Great Blue Heron Girl Scouts, Old World Wisconsin, Silhouettes, Waukesha Symphony, YMCA of Metro Milwaukee, and Christ King School in Wauwatosa.

She will be sadly missed by her children Kathy Munson of Milwaukee, Michael (Linda) Carroll of Waukesha and Patsy (Bill) Reichert of Fish Creek, WI; grandchildren Leanne (Greg) Hemmer of Pewaukee, Brian (Kim) Carroll of Waukesha, Kristen Munson of Milwaukee and Keara Munson of Pewaukee.  She is further survived by her sisters Joan Brennan and Karen Fiene both of Milwaukee, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Vincent in 1980 and her son Robert in 2003.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2. from 5 p.m. until the time for sharing remembrances at 7 p.m. at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A second visitation will take place on Monday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Vernon Presbyterian Church, S71 W23280 National Ave., Big Bend, WI  53103.  Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Cemetery in Genesee.  Please meet at the cemetery.
