Obituary: George J. Majeskie

Pewaukee man played for Land O' Lakes baseball for 25 years and attended church in Waukesha.

George J. Majeskie, of Pewaukee and Winter Garden, FL, died on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at the age of 80.

He was born on June 6, 1931 in the Town of Brookfield the son of Lawrence and Mary (nee Netteshiem) Majeskie. George owned and operated George Majeskie Inc. from 1962 until he sold the business to his son in 1996 where he continued to be active.  He played for the Land O’ Lakes baseball league for 25 years where he was also a coach and director.  He was a Holy Name Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife Shirley (nee Mielke) of Pewaukee and Winter Garden, FL, his children: Sandra Majeskie of Waukesha, Michael (Meri) Majeskie of North Prairie, Diane (Roman) Nowak of Muskego, Sharon Rodd-Majeskie of Bonita Springs, FL and Valerie Sullivan of Waukesha, his step-children: Steve (Becky) Wittmann of Waukesha, Todd (Pam) Wittmann of Menasha, and Tony (Susan) Wittmann of Hilbert, his four grandchildren: Alex and Ami Majeskie and Joshua and Jonathon Nowak, his nine step-grandchildren: Josh, Bradley, Sarah, Brooke, Casey, Taylor, Nicole, Zachary, and Andrew Wittmann and one step-great-grandchild Isabelle.  He is further survived by his siblings: Gerry (Harley) Miner of Waukesha, Sister Michael Majeskie of Manitowoc, Muffy (Henry) Traver of Texas and Bill (Jean) Majeskie of Pewaukee, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Dolly Kissinger, Agnes Hoffman, Pat Houk, Petie Seeger, and Bob, Romie and Larry Majeskie.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, from 9 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha.  A private family burial will be held on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
