Former Alderman, James “Jim” Paul Hilden, Dies at Age 75

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and served as a former alderman in District 4 for the City of Waukesha for six years.

James “Jim” Paul Hilden, of Waukesha, died on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at home at the age of 75 years.

He was born on July 26, 1937, in Laurium, MI, the son of Alex and Ann (Lilja) Hilden. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and served as a former alderman in District 4 for the City of Waukesha for six years.   Jim retired from General Electric in 1996 after 32 years of service.  Jim will be remembered as an avid golfer.

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Shirley of 30 years,  his children, Kelly (Dan) Poplawski of Lake Mills, Penny (Jason) Shelander of Port Washington and Peggy (Aaron) Auger of Virginia Beach, VA;  six grandchildren; his brothers, George (Peggy) of Plymouth, MI and Thomas (Margaret) of Pewaukee; his sisters, Marian Gould of OK and Joyce  (Charles “Chuck”) Grapentine of Madison; his extended family, Ruth and Michael and Sarah Benben of Racine, other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and William and his sisters, Barbara and Kathy.

The visitation for Jim will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd.  Waukesha, WI  53188.

There will be a second visitation for Jim on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. funeral service at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 White Rock Ave.  Waukesha, WI  53186.  The Rev. Scott Oelhafen officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha with full military honors.
