Literary journal publishes photographs by Carroll artist

Arizona State University’s semi-annual literary journal, “Superstition Review,” has published four photographs by Jen Moon, assistant professor of art at Carroll University. Issue 12, published in December 2013, contains images from her series, “I’ve Been There: A Namesake Tour of Iowa.”

Moon received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art with an emphasis in photography from the University of Iowa, and her Master of Fine Arts degree in imaging arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In her current project, she has selected 48 towns in Iowa named after famous locations (Paris, Jamaica and Rome) or familiar concepts (the Orient and Jefferson). So far, she has traveled to more than 30 towns to create a series of images that document rural Iowa. Moon teaches photography and digital media at Carroll University, and images from this series have been featured in exhibitions across the United States. Her website is www.jenmoonphoto.com.

Since its founding in 2008, Superstition Review has published engaging and innovative works of fiction, nonfiction, interviews, poetry and art by more than 550 established and emerging creatives from all over the world. For more information, visit www.superstitionreview.asu.edu/issue12.
