ESL students attended free soccer clinic at Carroll
Students in the Waukesha School District's English as a Second Language Program participated in a free soccer clinic at Carroll University.
Sixty-one students in the Waukesha School District’s English as a Second Language Program participated in a free soccer clinic in mid-August run by the Carroll University men’s soccer program.
Pioneers Head Coach Rick Mobley, four alumni and/or assistant coaches and 10 men’s soccer student-athletes conducted the camp at Carroll’s Schneider Stadium for the 61 boys and girls in grades K5-8. For two hours on each of three evenings, the students learned and practiced basic soccer skills.
Each participant, plus 12 younger siblings who tagged along, received a free soccer ball.
This is the second year Mobley has run the free clinic. It is promoted to eligible students by Maria Pieters, bilingual family liaison for the Waukesha School District.
