Carroll choir to perform a 20th century masterpiece

Carroll University’s Concert Choir will perform an encore of “Dona Nobis Pacem” on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. in Shattuck Music Center, 218 N. East Ave., Waukesha. This event is free and open to the public.

 

“Dona Nobis Pacem” is an epic 20th century masterpiece by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Other works by Vaughan Williams, Gustav Holst, Gerald Finzi, Johannes Brahms, and Morten Lauridsen will also be performed. The concert, directed by Seth Houston and Paula Foley Tillen, will include Concert Choir, Vocal Collective, Women’s Ensemble, soprano Tanya Kruse Ruck, lyric bass Thomas Weis, organist Jayne Latva, pianist Rhonda Kwiecien, and the DeKalb Festival Chorus.

Concert Choir also performed the concert on April 12 as special guests of the DeKalb Festival Chorus in at the First Lutheran Church of DeKalb in Illinois. On April 21, they will have the prestigious honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
