Carroll University Hosts Bryon's Run to Cure Paralysis
A 5K run/walk/roll to benefit the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation will be hosted by Carroll University on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.
A 5K run/walk/roll to benefit the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation will be hosted by Carroll University on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012. Team participation is encouraged to raise money and awareness for individuals with paralysis.
Bryon Riesch, paralyzed from his chest down after a devastating accident, has worked with Carroll University’s health sciences programs and has benefited from relationships developed with students and faculty. Carroll students in the health sciences provide wellness activities across the lifespan for individuals experiencing chronic disease and disability, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury or cerebral palsy, musculoskeletal disorders such as arthritis or general conditions such as heart disease.
Race registration begins at 8 a.m. at Carroll's Schneider Stadium, 240 N. Barstow St. Students will lead pre-race stretching at 8:30 a.m. The run/walk/roll begins at 9 a.m. and the course will be on the streets surrounding Carroll's campus. The event will be held rain or shine; no refunds. Refreshments will be provided for all participants at the end of the race, and a raffle for door prizes will be held.

Pre-registration entry fees are $15 for Carroll University students, faculty and staff, $25 for other attendees or $60 for a family. Day-of registration is $20 for Carroll University students, faculty and staff, $30 for other attendees.
