Robots Battle in Controlled Combat Destruction

Watch metal fly as student teams compete with their robots to out-wit, out-score and out-last their challengers.

A total of 18 high school teams will compete in the annual BotsIQ Wisconsin Competition on Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Waukesha County Technical College – Pewaukee campus gymnasium.

“The public is welcome to join us watch metal fly as high school teams challenge their robots in head to head competition,” says Lynn Mahuta, BotsIQ Wisconsin committee member and Mahuta Tool Corporation chief executive officer. “We highly encourage parents to bring their school aged children to the event to learn more about the BotsIQ program and advanced manufacturing careers.”

BotsIQ is a robotics based education program where teams of students combine science, technology, engineering and math to build combat type robots for competition. The program is a spinoff from the popular BattleBots® television show. Schools participating in the April 20 competition include: Brown Deer High School, CEO Leadership Academy, Germantown High School, Second Chance – Menomonee Falls, Second Chance – Waukesha, Slinger High School, Wauwatosa East High School, Watertown High School, and West Bend High Schools.
