It is Festival Week in Oconomowoc!

The name is slightly deceptive, it actually runs longer than a week, but none the less it is pack with all sorts of interesting activities throughout Oconomowoc.

Festival week kicks off with Buddy's Oconomowoc Days which fills up Roosevelt Park with carnival rides, vintage race car show, tons of live musical acts and of course food!  Admission is free and the hours are on Friday from 4:00pm- 11:00pm, Saturday from 10:00am-11:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm.  For more details on check out Oconomowoc Day's website.

Monday August 12th through the 16th there will be historical mail boat tours on Lac La Belle, but all the tickets are sold out!

Tuesday August 13th you can head over to Roosevelt Park and hang out at Oconomowoc Kids Fest!  Lake Country Family Fun will have a space at the event, so please make sure you come and say "Hi!" to us while visiting.  The park will be filled with local businesses and lots of free activities to do with the kids, it runs from 9:00am-1:00pm.

Tuesday August 13th also has Kids Day at City Beach!  Join the lifeguards of City Beach for a fun afternoon of games and activities. Theme based games such as obstacle courses, tug of war, sunken canoe race and many others. The day concludes with the infamous sand castle building contest with prizes from generous local businesses. Weather permitting, no rain date.

Wednesday August 14th at 7:30 pm there will be music in the air at the Rhodee Band Shell at City Beach!  Join the fun and listen the the American Legion Band Concert.  Pack a snack and bring your blanket and chairs and enjoy the show.

Thursday August 15th Ocomicon (Moonlit Movies) will be taking over downtown Oconomowoc.  The festivities begin at 4:30pm and there will be costumed characters throughout downtown.  Hang out with the batmobile, bounce in the bounce houses, and much more!  Don't forget about the costume contest, and visit the vendors scattered through the area.  The movie will begin around dusk, make sure you reserve your spot early!  I heard from a little birdie that the movie will be The Avengers!

Friday August 16th Rhodee Band Shell will be rocking with C3!  There will be kids and youth activities, the show begins at 7:00pm and runs until 10:00pm

Saturday August 17th and Sunday August 18th the Festival of the Arts will be taking place in Fowler Park.  If you haven't been yet, I highly suggest going.  The fill the park with artists, kids activities and entertainment.  The park will be open from 10:00am until 5:00pm and it is rain or shine!  There will be pontoon rides to the park from the Gazebo boat launch downtown in the municipal lot.

Festival weekend ends with a bang and a lighted boat parade on Lac La Belle.  There will be the American Legion Band performing at the Rhodee Band Shell begining at 7:30 pm and the boats will begin the parade at around 8:00pm and is followed by a firework show!

Please join in the festivities and see for yourself why the City of Oconomowoc is an amazing place!
