United Way Connects the Community to Volunteer Opportunities

(October 16, 2013)—United Way in Waukesha County would like to invite volunteers to the following volunteer opportunities:

Minor Home Repairs – Waukesha

Help a neighbor to remain independent in their home by helping out with small minor repairs around the home or yard. Handy people are needed to make minor home repairs, change light bulbs, fix plumbing, etc. Dates and times are flexible, based on the client's schedule. Volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years old.

Activity Assistant Needed for Dance - Waukesha

Spend time with adults with special needs as they dance the night away at our Harvest Hoedown. Goodwill On the Move is a recreation program for adults with developmental disabilities who want to put a little "kick" in their weekends. We are seeking volunteers to assist with decorating, serving food and encouraging people on the sidelines to get out on the dance floor and have some fun. The dance will be held on Saturday, November 16 in the evening. Volunteers are needed for set up from 4:00-6:00, the dance is from 6:00-8:30, and clean up is from 8:30-9:30. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Greeters – Waukesha

Be the friendly face who greets visitors. Help to direct incoming calls to the appropriate person, provide guests with information, and help with various projects. All training is provided, and schedules are flexible.

Bakers for the World’s Greatest Cookie Sale – Waukesha

If you like to bake, this opportunity is for you! Participate in the World's Greatest Cookie Sale in an effort to raise funds for a non-profit. ARCh office hours for drop off are 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday Only the simplest packaging (paper plates or a box) is necessary.
