(March 5, 2014)—United Way in Waukesha County would like to invite volunteers to the following volunteer opportunities:

Special Needs Teacher Assistant – Menomonee Falls
Are you passionate about working with children with special needs? If so, please come join the team at Children’s Community Center. Children’s Community Center is a full inclusion preschool and childcare center located in Menomonee Falls. As a volunteer some of your responsibilities would include: playing with children, helping a child to complete an activity, interacting with the child at circle time, encouraging participation in gross motor activities, assisting with snack or meal time, or providing a break for a child. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and be able to volunteer at least 2 mornings a week from 9am – Noon.

Data Entry - Waukesha
Provide support to the Backpack Coalition by completing data entry at the Salvation Army. You will use an Access database. Volunteer must be willing to commit to regular volunteering throughout the summer months. Experience in Microsoft Access and a great attention to detail are preferred. Should be familiar with Microsoft Access have a good attention to detail. Volunteers must be 17 years of age or older.

Medical Records Receptionist – Menomonee Falls
The medical records receptionist sets up the registration area with necessary forms and materials. Volunteer assists with patient registration, medical records preparation, data collection, and storage. Computer knowledge is required to do minimal computer entry. Volunteers are needed during clinic hours (5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is no set schedule for volunteering - you make out your own schedule. Training is provided for all roles. Volunteers must be a minimum age of 18 years old. Some computer knowledge is helpful. Must like working with people!

Buggin’ Out! Event - Waukesha
Be a Girl Scout Event Volunteer and share your passion, have fun, and positively impact girls' lives. Activities are already created and materials provided. Volunteers will help assist or lead a group of 15-20 girls grades 2-3. Beautiful butterflies and daredevil dragonflies- assist girls as they use their detective skills to look, listen and learn about the little creatures around us. They will discover the amateur entomologist in themselves. Event sessions are on April 12th. Events may require additional set up and clean up time, beyond the scheduled event. Staff will provide a detailed confirmation prior to the event. Volunteers must be a minimum age of 18 years old. All volunteers must complete a brief application and background check.

Downton Abbey Ball - Wales
The Wisconsin Philharmonic's annual gala, Downton Abbey, will be held on March 15, 2014 at the Legend at Brandybrook at 5:00pm. We are in need of volunteers willing to help out with the Silent Auction, Live Auction, and check out process. All proceeds for this event benefit the Wisconsin Philharmonic. Volunteers will be asked to come to the Legends at Brandybrook on Friday, March 14th to go through a run-through of the event and auctions. Volunteers should be eager to help, friendly, patient, and very detail orientated. High school students are older are welcome to help.
