Minooka Mash Halloween Actors
Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and the Waukesha County Parks System is sponsoring Minooka Mash. It is an Un-haunted Halloween event on Oct. 19, 2012, from 4:30-9 p.m. The family activity will include a Halloween Hike at Minooka Park. This night hike will include six nature sites with actors sharing information about the fun and somewhat scary creatures found in the woods. Groups will be lead throughout the hike, stopping at each nature site to hear a story from the actor. We are in need of six lead actors. Each would share a written script describing creatures of the woods such as: Skunk, Snake, Bat, Spider, Firefly and Squirrel. Each volunteer would be required to learn a two to three minute presentation on their topic and share the story throughout the evening event. The volunteer would need to be enthusiastic, engaging, loud and fun while talking with the families on the hike. A costume would be provided to the actor. All volunteers will be required to fill out a volunteer registration form and attend the rehearsal from 3-4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14.

Give from the Heart...Be a Hospice Volunteer!
Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care is looking for kind hearts that are looking to make a real difference in the life of terminally ill adults. If you enjoy reading, sharing memories, being a good listener or sharing any other talents you have, we have an opportunity for you. Volunteers play an essential role in the lives of our patients and families. An hour a week can provide so much comfort and care to our patients and families. Training is required to volunteer for Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, but we will provide everything you need in a supportive environment. No medical experience is required, just the will to give from the heart. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and complete a caregiver background check to be eligible for service.
