Get Your Pack Together and Ride for Rover!

HAWS, the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, and the Friends of MADACC are again teaming up to present the annual Ride for Rover. The motorcycle rally – now in its 4th year – hits the road with a few new twists and turns in 2013!

Ride for Rover IV
“revs-up” Saturday, August 17th at 8:30am with rider check-in at Hal’s Harley-Davidson on 1925 S. Moorland Rd., New Berlin. The Poker Run format includes stops at Central Bark (Sussex), Friends of Nature (Genesee), Hoffer’s Tropic Life Pets (Milwaukee), Maxie’s Southern Comfort (Milwaukee) and Petlicious Dog Bakery & Pet Spa (Pewaukee).

Some Stops feature bonus activities – like mini-golfing for prizes at Petlicious and photo ops at Central Bark with HAWS’ alumni dog Josie – celebrity spokesdog and Danny Gokey sidekick. Prizes for the best Poker Hands turned in at the end of the ride include a 50” TV, wings/beer party and Nook tablet.

For the second consecutive year, the Ride for Rover “merges” with HAWS’ Pet Fair in Menomonee Falls, ending a day of touring with a picnic at the 6th annual Fair at Falls Rotary Park. The Motorcycle Cowboys Rodeo will perform in the afternoon – with audience participation encouraged! Tickets for a 50/50 cash raffle will also be sold at the post-ride picnic.

Register for the Ride by July 30th to ensure receipt of the Official R4R4 t-shirt!
Fees for this fundraiser are $25 for Drivers, $15 for passengers and include a picnic at the end of the Ride and snacks and beverages at various Stop locations. Best of all, a motorcycle isn’t needed to join in the Ride! Cars and carloads are welcome for this family-friendly event, so log on to www.hawspets.org today and click on the Ride logo to reach the official Ride page and registration. All proceeds for the Ride will help local homeless animals and shelter programs that serve southeastern Wisconsin.

Get the entire pack together for a great day on the road, or motor to Rotary Park (Lily Rd. and Fond du Lac Ave.) and join the “after party” from the beginning. Everyone is welcome – pets included!
