Find Some BUNNY to Love!

Find some BUNNY to love at HAWS - in honor of Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month.

February is Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month. At HAWS we are no strangers to the wonder that is a bunny!

Not only does HAWS have the platform to educate the public about these often-misunderstood pets, but we have the facilities to house and rehome those looking for new forever homes. And, HAWS’ Spay-Neuter clinic can keep them healthy and help end rabbit overpopulation.

HAWS maintains a strong relationship with the Wisconsin House Rabbit Society. Save the date – HAWS and WHRS’s joint educational event, the annual Bunny Day, is coming up on March 30th at our shelter.

Our Small Animal Ward always has plenty of house rabbits to choose from if an adopter is looking to add one – or two! – to their family. Pictured are just a small selection of our “team” of Dutch bunnies, including Daisy, Heidi, Hubbard, Licorice and York. (Flipflop, the black Satin, snuck in there, too.)

Two bunnies don’t mean twice the work! They can share their “rabbitat” - including food/water bowls and litterbox. When house rabbits are properly bounded, they can play with and groom each other, and keep each other company. Introductions need to be done carefully, but our Small Animal volunteers are ready to set up Bunny Dates to help make a those love matches.

Adopt 4 paws from HAWS – find some “bunny” to love!

By the way – we are just a week away from the annual observation of World Spay Day – Tuesday, February 25th. Get involved – advocate, donate, sport the 2014 limited edition T-shirt! Learn more at hawspets.org.
