Hit a Home Run for HAWS

Just announced - new features make HAWS' 30th Anniversary Pet Walkathon the event of the spring and one not to be missed!

Just got a visit from a HAWS volunteer who is very excited about the new features for the 30th Annual Pet Walkathon to benefit the Waukesha shelter

The long-running event, scheduled for Saturday, May 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., will again be held at Sussex Village Park, south of Main Street/Hwy. VV on Weaver Avenue in Sussex. The theme is all about baseball – "loading the bases" for HAWS and the animals we help each day!

HAWS’ Pet Walkathon features fun for pets and their people, including the usual adoptable pets, scenic walking trails, adoptable HAWS’ pets, pet and owner contests (lookalikes!), vendor booths, great food….

But this year will be extra special with a visit by the Waukesha Old Car Club,
demonstrations of Treibball (NOT to be missed – Google it for a preview!), awesome raffle prizes like a 42” HD TV, a doggie tennis ball hunt, coloring contest for kids, dog agility area, decorate your own baseball cap craft…they tell me there
is a lot more to be announced soon so I can’t wait!

Walkathon fundraisers always receive special HAWS’ items depending on their level of donation. Donations can be brought to the Walk in person or raised through online personal fundraising pages.  Registration forms, detailed information and personal fundraising page launch are at hawspets.org – just
look for the Walkathon banner ad or Firstgiving fundraising widget to get
started.

By the way and best of all - HAWS’ annual Pet Walkathon is sponsored and presented by the Friends of HAWS. Because of their hard work, 100% of donations collected for the Walk are given directly to HAWS for animal care, programs and life-saving services.
