Waukesha Under Winter Weather Advisory

Advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. today

Editor's note: This story has been updated as the National Weather Service changed the time that the advisory is in effect. It previously was in effect until 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, which is in effect until 2 p.m. today.

The NWS is predicting about 4 to 6 inches of wet snow to fall in the area. Some drifting snow is expected with winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour.

The NWS in a statement warned that the wet snow will cause the roads to become slippery.

“A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties,” the NWS states. “Be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.”
