Waukesha 13th Most Expensive Housing Market in the State

Shorewood and Mequon rank first and second, Brookfield ranks fifth.

According to a report by Coldwell Banker Real Estate analyzing six months of home real estate listings, Waukesha is the thirteenth most expensive housing market in the state.

Coldwell Banker Real Estate’s 2011 Home Listing Report (HLR) compares the average home listing price of four-bedroom, two-bathroom properties listed on coldwellbanker.com between September 2010 and March 2011.

The survey reviewed 53 real estate markets in Wisconsin. Berlin led the list as the most affordable market, while the report identified Shorewood as the state’s most expensive market. Other communities in the metro-Milwaukee market were Mequon, ranking as the second most expensive, and Brookfield, the fifth most expensive market.

The average price of a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house listed in Waukesha during the six-month time period was $251,607.

This year, the HLR is more robust than ever with an overview of 2,300 North American housing markets, according to a press release from Coldwell Banker.
