This Thanskgiving, What Are You Thankful For?

Waukesha Patch gives you a chance to publicly declare your thanks and appreciation this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving — a holiday centered around thankfulness — is Thursday.

The annual family feast day is a great time to pause and reflect on what you're most thankful for this year. The holiday also traditionally kicks off the frenzied Christmas shopping season, which means the remainder of the year is often but a blur.

To be honest, this year has been difficult. As a camp counselor for years, I've lost two of my young adult staff members who I saw grow up in our program. Tragic car accidents took their lives — one in April and one just 10 days ago. After the most recent accident, I was praying with a close friend who just had this request:

"Please, don't take anyone else."

This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for those around me. I am grateful I can still call up my brothers and sisters. I am grateful I can watch Cars with my nephew and play basketball with my nieces.

I am grateful I'm being given the chance to pursue my MBA. I am grateful for friends who have supported me along the way. I am grateful for my health, for my safety and for the chance to be in a country where I can better myself.

And to be honest, I am very thankful that the Green Bay Packers pulled ahead to lead the NFC North Division over the Chicago Bears.
