Sunset Drive and West Avenue Construction Continues

Waukesha roadwork project scheduled to be completed Nov. 4.

You might not always see them, but construction workers are working hard to reconstruct the intersection at Sunset Drive and West Avenue.

They just finished installing the water main and storm sewer for the intersection. Since water needed to be turned off for that, the work was done at night or in the very early hours of the day to minimize disruption to businesses, according to Alex Damien, engineer with the

The intersection is getting more than a face lift – with new utilities, lighting and other roadwork, it’s a total reconstruction, Damien said.

The next step with be road removal to make way for the new road. The intersection is scheduled to be finished Nov. 4, and it should be worth the wait.

“It’ll look nicer than it has in many years,” Damien said.
