Obituary: Scott J. Murphy

Mukwonago man died at age 56.

Scott J. Murphy of Mukwonago, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at his residence at the age of 56. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on Dec. 12, 1956 the son of John and Barbara (Metrie) Murphy.

Scott was a 1975 graduate of New Berlin Eisenhower High School. He started working at McDonald’s when he was 16 and rose to the position of Area Supervisor for Conley-Pihos Management Co. until 1988. He then became an Owner Operator for Starline Trucking and has been the Owner of SMT Pumping since 2005. Scott was united in marriage to Jane P. Gadow on June 26, 1991. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church in Mukwonago. Scott enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, riding his motorcycles, and weightlifting. His kids were his greatest achievement and he was the proudest papa in the bleachers. Scott was the type of man who enjoyed meeting new people and will be forever remembered for his outgoing personality.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Jane, children; Sarah (Willard) Ruiz of Weiherhammer, Germany, Sean Murphy and Kelly-Anne Murphy of Mukwonago, grandchildren; Julius and Lilianna, father; John (Lucy) Murphy of Muskego and by his brother; Steve (Carol) Murphy of West Allis. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; Barbara, sister; Kimberly Murphy and by his grandparents.

The visitation for Scott will be held from 3 p.m. until the 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church, 830 County Road NN E, Mukwonago, WI 53149. The Rev. Michael G. Savio will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Scott may be given to the family for his children’s education or to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, 830 North 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233.
