Heat Advisory Monday and Tuesday

Temperatures expected to peak between 97 and 102 degrees.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in effect from noon Monday to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Maximum daytime air temperatures is expected to peaking in the 97 to 102 degrees range with heat indices in the 100 to 108 range.

Monday Night the weather will remain muggy.

Heat stress may affect high-risk people with health problems, the young, and the elderly. This is true for people who are socially isolated with no access to air conditioning or transportation to air-conditioned buildings or cooling centers. Pets and farm animals are also at-risk.

National Weather Service warns that under these conditions, heat related illnesses are possible and advised people to drink plenty of fluids; stay out of the sun; stay in air-conditioned locations and to check up on relatives and reighbors.

Buckling and cracking of some road surfaces possible.

A heat advisory is issued when hot temperatures and high relative humidity will cause heat index readings to reach 100 or higher.
