My Life My Plan Career Coach, The Greater Milwaukee Committee, Milwaukee

A Milwaukee Talent Dividend sponsored workshop is seeking volunteers from local businesses and community organizations that will be trained as "Career Coaches." After a 30 minute on-line training, you will join the staff as a coach. Coaches are guided through the entire workshop by a facilitator who will introduce and explain small group exercises to help the youth formulate their next steps to prepare for a successful future. Assist youth in a three-hour workshop to explore career options through various tools, assessments and activities, and learn how to prepare them for their post-secondary education. No previous coaching experience is necessary and online training will be provided. Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years or older to participate. Select one of the following dates:

Tuesday, February 19, 2013 – 9:00am-12:00pm at Harvey Phillips School, Waukesha

Tuesday, February 26, 2013 – 8:30-11:30am at WCTC (HSED and Junior Academic Work Service Program)

Greek Culture Workshop Activity Aide, Goodwill Industries of SE Wisconsin, Waukesha

 

Take a virtual tour of Greece, famous for the Olympic Games, gods, sculptures, ancient philosophy and ruins. Goodwill Industries will be presenting and discussing pictures and videos of Greek culture to a group of adults with disabilities and then making and serving some popular Greek dishes together. Volunteers are needed to aid with discussion and preparing and serving the food. This event will be held on Saturday, February 23, from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Requirements: Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old, social and mature with a desire to show participants that they are valued. Seniors and Students/Waukesha Program, Retired Senior and Volunteer Program, Waukesha

 

Opportunity to tutor elementary aged children in math or reading at Waukesha Elementary Schools. Individualized placement available for what works with your schedule. Come and make a difference in the life of a child! Requirements: Volunteers should be 55+. Volunteers must provide their own transportation. Background check is required.
